Expansion vessel bellows replacement
Sector:
Manufacturing
Location:
Royston, Hertfordshire
Project duration:
Same-day response and resolution

Overview

ARH Group was contacted by a high-profile manufacturing client in Royston following a critical failure on an expansion vessel joint. The failure resulted in a significant water leak within a live production environment, posing an immediate risk to operational continuity.

The challenge

Due to the nature of the site, any unplanned downtime presented a serious risk to production and safety. The client required an immediate response, rapid fault diagnosis, and a permanent repair solution delivered within the same day.

Our approach

Within one hour of the callout, an ARH engineer attended site to investigate. The failure was identified as defective expansion bellows.

To resolve the issue quickly and safely, the engineer:

  • Sourced two replacement 80mm expansion bellows immediately.
  • Returned to site the same day to complete the repair.
  • Removed the failed bellows and installed the replacements.
  • Re-used original fixings following inspection and verification.

The system was pressure-tested on completion, with no leaks identified.

The results

  • Same-day resolution of a critical system failure.
  • Zero unplanned downtime beyond the initial incident.
  • Production operations able to continue safely and without interruption.
  • Demonstrated ARH’s rapid response capability and technical expertise.
“I would like to pass on my thanks to ARH for your excellent response in attending to the urgent water leak. Your prompt action and same-day resolution helped us avoid further disruption to operations.”
