ARH was appointed to replace an existing oil-fired boiler at a retail property in Heywood, Greater Manchester. The existing system no longer met current OFTEC regulations, making replacement essential to ensure the new system operated safely, efficiently, and in full compliance.
The works were delivered within a tight programme, ensuring the property remained operational throughout.
Initial assessment identified that the existing pipework configuration would need modification to accommodate the new boiler. The replacement also needed to meet updated OFTEC standards while being completed within a two-day window, with minimal disruption to site operations.
ARH engineers attended site and completed full safety inductions before commencing work. The existing boiler and flue were safely isolated, drained, and removed in line with OFTEC and environmental requirements.
A new Worcester Bosch Greenstar oil boiler was installed, utilising the existing flue opening with a new sealed flue run. Pipework was modified as required, incorporating new valves, pressure control components, and a MagnaClean filter. The system was refilled, treated with inhibitor, and fully commissioned to manufacturer and OFTEC standards.
Engineers provided operational guidance on completion, ensuring the client understood the safe and efficient use of the new system.
