Role overview

Due to continued growth within our Building Services and Projects division, we are currently recruiting for an HVAC / Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to support the delivery of medium to large scale installation projects across the UK. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The role will involve working on installation projects nationwide, and will require regular travel, lodging away and occasional night working to accommodate client operational requirements.

You will be provided with a company van, tools and equipment required to carry out your duties. We offer door-to-door pay, an attractive overtime package, and paid rest time following any night works.

You will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of HVAC and air conditioning systems across a range of commercial and industrial environments as part of ARH’s Building Services project delivery team.

Projects will typically involve the installation, upgrade or refurbishment of air conditioning systems, ventilation systems and associated pipework and controls, working as part of a wider project team to deliver works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Install a range of HVAC and air conditioning systems including split systems, VRV/VRF systems, and packaged units
  • Carry out installation of refrigeration pipework, condensate drainage, and associated components
  • Install mechanical services including ventilation systems, ductwork and associated supports
  • Carry out pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning of systems where required
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and installation schematics
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors and other engineers to deliver project milestones
  • Carry out installation works in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and current industry standards
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure all installations meet project specifications
  • Complete job reports and documentation using electronic devices (e.g. tablets)
  • Support site setup, materials management and safe system commissioning where required

Essential skills and qualifications

  • F-Gas Certification (Category 1 or equivalent)
  • NVQ / C&G Level 2 or Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience installing commercial HVAC / air conditioning systems
  • Experience installing VRV/VRF and split systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation schematics
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Manual)
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Experience using electronic devices (e.g. tablets) for reporting and communication
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home where required
  • Flexible approach to working hours including night work where projects require

Desirable skills and qualifications

  • IPA F (PASMA) / Working at Height certification
  • CSCS / Skill Card (HVAC or Mechanical)
  • Experience working on commercial building services projects
  • Experience installing ventilation or ductwork systems
  • Electrical awareness or experience working alongside controls / BMS systems
