Role overview

As an On-Site Technician, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a high standard of technical support across client sites in Shropshire and the surrounding region. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks – ensuring safety, compliance, and operational uptime. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong technical background and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across multiple disciplines

  • Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical, mechanical, or fabric systems

  • Work closely with site managers and clients to ensure minimal disruption to building operations

  • Update job progress and reports via our CAFM system in real-time

  • Adhere to all health and safety standards and compliance requirements

  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide emergency support as required

  • Identify opportunities for improvement or energy efficiency upgrades

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (for electrical candidates)

  • Proven experience in a facilities management or building services role

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Good communication and reporting skills

Desirable skills and qualifications

  • Experience working within commercial or industrial environments

  • Knowledge of CAFM systems or digital reporting tools

  • Additional qualifications in HVAC, fire systems, or energy systems (e.g. EV charge points, solar PV)

  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent health and safety training
