Role overview

To deliver high-quality planned and reactive electrical maintenance services across ARH Group client sites, ensuring electrical systems and associated building services remain safe, compliant, reliable and operational.

The Maintenance Electrician will carry out electrical fault finding, repairs, maintenance and minor installation works in accordance with current regulations, industry standards and ARH Group procedures. The role will respond effectively to planned and reactive tasks, identifying faults, completing repairs efficiently and helping to minimise disruption and downtime for clients.

As a customer-facing representative of ARH Group, the Maintenance Electrician will provide a professional, safe and dependable service, maintaining clear communication with clients, the helpdesk and management team and ensuring that all works, job records and compliance documentation are completed accurately and on time.

The role will contribute to ARH Group’s commitment to keeping client buildings safe, compliant and operational, while delivering a consistently high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance works across a range of client sites.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and undertake appropriate repairs to maintain safe and reliable operation.
  • Carry out minor electrical installation, alteration and improvement works as required.
  • Undertake routine inspections and general checks of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations, standards and company procedures.
  • Complete job records, reports and other required documentation accurately and within appropriate timescales.
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues, contractors and the helpdesk to support the effective delivery of maintenance services.
  • Identify and report additional works, defects, risks or potential improvements where appropriate.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, materials and company property in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Support other maintenance activities and colleagues where reasonably required.
  • Maintain a professional approach when working on client premises and represent ARH Group to a high standard.
  • Participate in training and development activities necessary to maintain relevant skills and competencies.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and the needs of the business.
  • Fulfil legal duties under Health & Safety legislation, taking reasonable care for own health and safety and that of others, and following all company policies and procedures.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Previous experience working within an electrical maintenance, facilities management or similar building services environment is desirable. The successful candidate should have practical experience of fault finding, repairs and general electrical maintenance, ideally across a variety of commercial or client-facing sites.
  • Experience of working independently, managing day-to-day workloads and responding to both planned and reactive maintenance requirements would be beneficial. A practical, flexible approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider maintenance team are important.
  • Experience within a mobile or multi-site maintenance role would be advantageous but is not essential.
